The Extra Step That Goes the Extra Mile

I can’t stress enough the importance of makeup primer. Primer is the base for foundation that allows it to go on smoother and last longer. You wouldn’t paint a wall without primer, so don’t make the same mistake with your face.

My two recommended primers are Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer and Laura Mercier Foundation Primer.

Guys, I have found the holy grail of primers and I’ll let you in on my little secret weapon! The Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer  has multipurpose functions, aside from making foundation smoother and long-lasting. It conceals redness, minimizes the appearance of pores, fine lines and wrinkles. Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer is oil-free, weightless and includes SPF 15 (but that doesn’t cut it for daily protection, you need at least 30… we’ll discuss this further another time). It has a unique texture that is silky and light, and it’s safe for sensitive skin, especially since you only apply a small amount. You would need four primers to get all those benefits! It feels like silk on the skin and most importantly, you can basically splash your face with water and your makeup won’t go anywhere!

Hourglass is a bit pricey so you might not want to use it on a daily basis, just save it for those special events. A more affordable route would be the Laura Mercier primers. There are a variety of primers, including Radiance, Bronze, Hydrating, Oil-Free, Blemish-Less, and SPF 30. My favorite for brides is Radiance!

I don’t know what I would do without makeup primer, and I would encourage everyone to try it. It’s a small extra step that goes a long way… all day!
